The French Exit

Crisp, gin-based, and with a distinct kick of cayenne pepper and fresh ginger, summer and Thai were made for the French Exit (left). I’ll tell you about the one on the right another time.

If you’re wondering why you’ve never heard of this contemporary Prohibition-era inspired cocktail, it’s because I totally made up the name! A combination this delectable deserved better than “Gin and Chartreuse Cocktail.” Try it and you’ll see.

Ingredients

2 oz Hendrick’s gin
½ oz Green Chartreuse
1 ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
½ oz simple syrup
⅛ tsp freshly grated ginger
dash of cayenne pepper

Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a coupe glass.
